Paddy Power bookies knife attack suspect is 85
A pensioner almost lost his finger after being attacked in a city centre bookmakers, allegedly by a knife-wielding 85-year-old.
The attacker is said to have swung the blade at an 82-year-old customer in Paddy Power on Princess Street.
The attack is said to have followed a row between the two pensioners.
Customers intervened to stop the attack said witnesses.
The attacker is said to have waited calmly for police to arrive before being arrested at around 2.30pm on Saturday.
A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “Police are investigating a knife attack that took place at a betting shop in Princess Street, Wolverhampton just after 2.30pm.
“An 82-year-old man was taken to hospital with an injury to the hand, which is not believed to be life-threatening.
"He remains in hospital today. An 85-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody this afternoon.

The stabbing came just 12 hours after another machete attack in the Black Country.
A 28-year-old man was stabbed in Summerhill Road in Coseley in the early hours of Saturday morning.
