Wolverhampton armed police siege suspect appears in court
A man arrested after a 24-hour armed police siege in Wolverhampton has appeared in court.
Alexander Lange, from Laurel Grove in the Merry Hill area of the city, is charged with criminal damage and using threatening behaviour to cause fear.
The unemployed 38-year-old was arrested at his home on Saturday morning after a 24-hour stand off with police.
Laurel Grove was shut from 9am on Friday, with firearms officers stationed on the residential street until Lange was detained the following morning.
Residents of the cul-de-sac off Oxbarn Avenue were forced to stay inside their homes throughout the operation.
Lange appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court this morning, where he was granted bail.
The case was adjourned until December 20.
