Thugs smash railway station doors after West Brom and Millwall match
Football yobs broke the doors at The Hawthorns station as they clashed following Albion’s game against Millwall.
West Bromwich Albion and Millwall officials said they would be working police to identify those involved.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to The Hawthorns station at 5pm on Saturday after reports of a large disturbance between football fans, during which the train station doors were broken.”
Martin Swain, West Bromwich Albion spokesperson, said the club would be working with West Midlands Police to identify those involved in the trouble after the Saturday clash.
He said the club adopt a ‘zero tolerance’ approach to anti-social behaviour.
Meanwhile four people were arrested following trouble at Villa’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday. Anyone with information about The Hawthorns incident is asked to call the British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference 495 of 22 September.
