Thugs attack victim with baton in Kidderminster robbery
A man was hit with a baton and robbed near a football ground by a group of thugs.
The 27-year-old was walking from Kidderminster Railway Station when he was approached by three men.
He had been walking along an alleyway, off Comberton Hill, leading to Kidderminster Harriers' ground Aggborough, at around 11pm on Thursday when he was told to empty his pockets and bag.
One of the three men struck the victim over the head with a baton, but the incident was interrupted when a member of the public walked past the area and the men left the scene.
The victim carried on walking and as he exited the alleyway, it is believed the same three men ran up behind him and took his bag.
The men left the victim with minor injuries and made away with a laptop, taken from the bag, and around £40.
All three are described as white and aged in their late teens to early 20s.
One man is thought to be around 5ft 9ins, of a slim build, with ginger hair that is short on the side and gel in the top.
He had no facial hair, pale skin complexion and was believed to be wearing a dark hooded top and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.
The second was around 6ft tall, of a slim build with short, curly, brown hair.
He had no facial hair, a pale complexion and distinctive teeth. He was believed to be wearing a green jacket with a fur hood and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.
And the third is believed to be the shortest of the group.
He had brown hair and was believed to be wearing a hooded top with the hood pulled up, a scarf around the lower half of his face, and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Inspector Gerry Smith of West Mercia Police, said: "We are keen to speak with any members of the public who may have witness this incident, or seen anyone acting suspiciously around the alleyway from Comberton Place towards Kidderminster Football Stadium.
"We are particularly keen to speak with the member of the public who is believed to have walked past the incident, causing the offenders to run off before they later returned."
