She was left at a health centre after a 45-minute ordeal and was due to be reunited with her mother, West Midlands Police said.

Her mother has been taken to hospital after sustaining leg injuries.

The drama unfolded as the mum pulled up on her drive and was immediately approached by two men.

As she struggled to get her child out of the grey Audi A3, the pair drove off injuring her in the process.

Dozens of officers were searching after the car was stolen in Acocks Green, Birmingham.

Police are still appealing for anyone seeing the S line model car with the reg no. BJ66 YLV to come forward with information.

West Midlands Police said they have 'extensive' resources working on the search.

The car was taken at around 4pm.

Police confirmed at around 5.15pm that the youngster had been left at Small Heath Health Centre and was 'safe and well'.

Force Incident Manager Chief Inspector Tony Cole said: “Our primary concern was the safe return of this young child and dozens of officers, including specialist resources, were drafted into the search, which I am so pleased has resulted in her safe return.

“We are still determined to trace the offenders who have put this mother through a 45-minute nightmare that she will never forget.

“Please help us with any information you may have which will assist our search.”
