Shots were fired from a silver car outside a house in Clay Lane.

The intended target was not hurt and the car sped off towards Langley High Street, West Midlands Police said.

The drama unfolded just after 8pm on Sunday with detectives now launching an appeal for information.

Officers have begun trawling CCTV as they hunt the gunman.

Detective Sergeant Chris Jones, from West Midlands Police CID, said: “I am urging anyone with information on what happened to get in touch.

“Thankfully, there were no injuries and these types of incidents are rare, but we need to find out what happened and who was involved.

“We are led to believe that a silver Volkswagen car, possibly a Polo, was involved in the shooting which we are treating as a targeted attempted murder.

“The car sped off towards the junction of Langley High Street and Langley Green Road and the driver is described as wearing a black scarf around his face.

“We are currently reviewing CCTV in the local area and we think there may have been people in the area who have not yet spoken to us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting 20SW/159752H/18. Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
