A businessman accused of murdering his wife in has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Gurpreet Singh, 42, will now face trial at Birmingham Crown Court in October accused of killing of Sarbjit Kaur.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene on February 16 this year after paramedics were called to her detached home in Rookery Lane, Penn, Wolverhampton.
An inquest on Mrs Kaur, who ran a sewing business from the family home, was told she died from asphyxiation.
Singh, wearing a red zip-up jacket, spoke to enter his plea and confirm that he could hear and see the proceedings from a videolink booth at HMP Birmingham on Friday.
Judge Patrick Thomas QC remanded Singh in custody until his trial, which is expected to last for up to three weeks.
