Walsall murder: Man, 65, died from blow to head
A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead at his flat in Walsall.
The 65-year-old, who has been named locally as Eddie Bradley, was discovered at an address in St Thomas Close, Coalpool. He is believed to have been dead for several days.
A post-mortem examination revealed the victim died from a blow to the head.
Detectives are now working to find out if anyone was seen coming and going from the flats in the quiet cul-de-sac over the past week.
Neighbours were left shocked by the death.
Margaret Horney, 69, who lives in the flat opposite, called police as she had not seen him since last Sunday.
She said: “I hadn’t seen him for a few days. I phoned the police and I’m glad I did. The police came and battered the door in.
“The paramedics came out and said ‘there isn’t anything we can do for him’. I cried, nobody deserves that."
Marjorie Craddock, 72, who lives a short distance from the flats on St Thomas Close, said: “It is sad to think somebody could be dead for so long without knowing. It’s a good job somebody missed him.”
