Teen, 18, hospitalised after shooting
An 18-year-old was left hospitalised after being shot in Birmingham.
Firearms officers rushed to a residential road after shots were fired, prompting a police investigation.
Officers from West Midlands Police were called to College Road in Saltley, Birmingham, around 6.20pm last night after receiving reports of a man with a gun.
An 18-year-old man arrived at Heartlands hospital, in Bordesley Green East, by car with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm 30 minutes after police were first alerted.
Witnesses at the scene reported that two other men had been with the gunman – with officers cordoning off College Road and removing a car from the scene for a detailed forensic examination.
Today police will carry out a fingertip search of the scene whilst active inquires remain underway to trace the attackers and their motive.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Local people have been spoken to and CCTV cameras in the area identified.
"A fingertip search of the scene will be undertaken on Sunday with the road remaining closed until then. Active inquiries are underway to trace the attackers and to understand their motive.
"Anyone who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to officers should call us on 101."
