Keiron Walker, of Ebenezer Street, Hednesford, is charged with threats to kill, possession of an offensive weapon and affray in connection with the incident at the college's town centre campus

It comes after the college said a man, who was not a student, entered the campus without permission through the Victoria Square reception on Tuesday.

He is understood to have been on the premises for about three minutes shortly after 5pm before leaving the area.

Walker has also been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and criminal damage to a police car after a later incident in Rugeley the same day.

He was due to appear before magistrates in Newcastle-under-Lyme this morning.
