Man airlifted to hospital after Sedgley stabbing

A man was airlifted to hospital after being stabbed in Sedgley.

The victim, in his 30s, suffered injuries to his neck, leg and back.

Part of Gospel End Street was cordoned off following the stabbing at around 2.30pm yesterday and there was a large police presence at the scene.

An air ambulance was sent from Cosford due to the seriousness of the victim's injuries.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said: "We were called to reports of an assault. Two ambulances together with a paramedic officer and the Midland Air Ambulance from Cosford attended.

"The patient was treated for multiple injuries including to his leg and back and was airlifted to hospital."

Police have urged anyone with information to call 101.
