Police officer admits misusing force's computer systems

A serving police officer has pledged guilty to the misuse of her force's computer systems.

Pc Michelle Denne, aged 44, was before Birmingham magistrates on Thursday.

The Staffordshire Police officer, who is based at Cannock Station, was pleaded guilty to six counts of offences under the Computer Misuse Act.

It follows an investigation into allegations of breaches of the Data Protection Act by the force’s performance and standards unit.

The case has been adjourned to Birmingham Magistrates' Court for sentencing on April 23.

The officer, who was investigated following a complaint, is currently suspended from duty.
