Reagan Asbury: Suspect denies murder after disorder at Walsall Town Hall boxing event

Tyrone Andrew appeared at Birmingham Crown Court today charged with murdering Mr Asbury in Walsall.

The 21-year-old, of Saint Helen’s Street, Derby, denied the charge.

His co-defendants Ryandeep Sidhu, aged 22, Declan Kemp-Francis, 23, and Lavelle Patrice, 22, also appeared before the court.

Sidhu, of Lidgate Close, Derby, denied assisting an offender by taking the knife police believe Mr Asbury was stabbed with.

Kemp-Francis, of Dickens Square, Sunny Hill, Derby, denied violent disorder and assisting an offender by helping Andrew get away form Walsall and back to his Derby home.

Patrice, of Havenwood Grove, Littleover, Derby, also denied violent disorder.

All the charges relate to an incident on October 14 last year, the court heard.

The defendants were told a four-week trial had been provisionally set for June 18.

Andrew was remanded in custody, while Sidhu, Kemp-Francis and Patrice were released on bail.

Mr Asbury, from Pelsall, was attacked after violence broke out at a boxing event at Walsall Town Hall.

Trouble spilled into the street after chairs and tables were scattered during the disorder, which started shortly after an IBF World Title bout between Luke Paddock and Myron Mills.

A post-mortem examination confirmed the former Pelsall United footballer died from a wound to his neck.

Friends attended a memorial event for Mr Asbury at Pelsall’s The Old House at Home pub a week after his death.

His girlfriend Georgia Seedhouse previously paid tribute to him and said: “He always had a smile on his face, he was always joking. If anyone was in a mood he would be the one to bring them back up.”

Boxing returned to Walsall Town Hall for the first time since Mr Asbury’s death earlier this month.
