More than one week on, flowers, balloons, ribbons and teddy bears continue to be left at the scene of the horror in Valley View, Brownhills.

Pink ribbons have been tied to lampposts and line surrounding streets in a sign of solidarity in the area.

The community has rallied round following the killing, with many shops in Brownhills having agreed to have collection tins.

Dozens of floral tributes have also been left outside Mylee's home, while a fundraising event is planned at St James' Church next month.

Police officers remained at the house over the weekend as the investigation into Mylee's death continues.

A man, believed to be Mylee's father Bill Billingham, who remains in hospital, has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

It comes as two teenagers were injured in a double stabbing in the Black Country on Friday night.

The boys, aged 14 and 15, were attacked in Pennfields, Wolverhampton.

The younger boy remained seriously injured in hospital last night but is expected to survive.

The 15-year-old suffered wounds to his hand and leg.

Friends of Mylee paid a special tribute to her at the weekend as they went on a fundraising walk in her home town.

Angela and Thurston Spinks and their children Bailey, nine, Chantelle, eight, and Paris, six, who went to the same school as Mylee, collected donations as they walked through Brownhills and Pelsall.

They were determined to do anything they could to support the family after they, like many in the community, were left devastated by the shocking death of the eight-year-old.

They live just a short distance from where Mylee was stabbed to death in Valley View last week.

Angela, 43, said: "My three little ones go to Mylee's school. It doesn't matter what we raise, we just wanted to do something."

The mother-of-five doesn't know Mylee's family but had seen her at the school and her children were friends.

She said: "We were devastated. We saw it had been cordoned off by the police. We found out what had happened the next morning. We went round to put flowers down.

"Chantelle keeps talking about her, she says Mylee was caring and loving."
