Mylee Billingham: School in shock over death of pupil
"What can I say - We're all numb...in shock."
These are the words of the devastated headteacher speaking as the community comes to terms with the death of schoolgirl Mylee Billingham.
Mylee, aged eight, was rushed to hospital with serious stab injuries after the attack at a home in Brownhills on Saturday evening but died a short time later.
It is believed her father - Bill Billingham who was found at the address with a stab wound to his stomach - has been arrested.
The 54-year-old remains in a critical condition in hospital where police say he is expected to undergo surgery.
Outside her school, St James' Primary, headteacher, Andy Nicholls, paid an emotional tribute to the young girl.

He said: "Everyone at the school is completely devastated.
"Mylee was dearly loved by us all. Her smile lit up the room - in fact it never left her face.
"She was a fun loving, happy eight year old who should have had her whole life in front of her.
"She took a full part in school life, particularly enjoying singing and performing.
"She was just a lovely little girl. Our hearts go out to her family."
Walsall Council leader, Councillor Sean Coughlan, also spoke of his shock at Mylee's death
He said: "I am in shock and in complete disbelief to hear that a little girl has lost her life in such a tragic way.
"My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by this incident.
"The entire area will be left reeling in deep shock of her death.
"As a council, we are working with the school she attended to give support to her classmates and their families as well as staff.
"I would like to offer my deepest condolences to Mylee’s family.”
More flowers and tributes have arrived throughout the day outside the home in Brownhills.
