Amazon fire: Arrest made after huge blaze at Rugeley warehouse
A man has been arrested in connection with a large blaze at Amazon which caused severe damage and scores of staff being evacuated.
Staffordshire Police confirmed the 21-year-old suspect from Walsall has been bailed.
The flames ripped through two floors of the 700 sq ft fulfilment centre at Power Station Road, Rugeley.
It broke out around 12.15pm on Saturday, November 4 and took several hours to get under control with dozens of firefighters required to tackle the blaze.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service stated it was only the sprinkler system which prevented the fire spreading.
A large amount of smoke logging was caused to the building.
A police spokeswoman stated: "A 21 year old man from the Walsall area was arrested in connection with the fire, he has been released under investigation."
The incident came a year on from a very similar blaze at the site which also prompted a large scale evacuation.
