Crimestoppers issue £10,000 reward
A £10,000 reward has been offered for information about the death of man killed by a firework that was deliberately put in his home.
Anthony Nicholls, 56, died in hospital following the blaze at his home in Birchtrees Crescent, Tile Cross, on November 2.
His partner, a 50-year-old woman, escaped with fractures to her lower limbs after jumping from a first-floor window at the property.
Detectives are treating Mr Nicholls' death as murder.
Now the reward has been issued by independent charity Crimestoppers to try to find his killers.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the fire or anyone who may have seen someone carrying the large firework which was let off at about 11pm.
Det Insp Paul Joyce said: "This could help provide us with valuable clues.
"We owe it to the family of Mr Nicholls to find out who started the blaze and bring whoever was responsible to justice."
