Thieves drilling fuel tanks to steal petrol
Thieves have been stealing petrol from cars in Norton Canes by drilling their tanks.
Three incidents have been reported in the last four weeks with the culprits striking around 4am each time, police have warned.
The latest theft occurred on Breeze Avenue on Saturday. A witness disturbed two suspects who ran off towards Chasewater.
Last Wednesday a vehicle outside Knights Court off Bettys Lane was targeted in a similar manner.
While the first incident to be reported took place on Railway Street on Monday, September 18.
PCSO Megan McAndrew said: "We have received a third report of a fuel tank being drilled and petrol stolen in Norton Canes.
"We believe the offenders are operating at around 4am.
"Please be vigilant and ensure any CCTV cameras are recording and facing vehicles."
