Michael McIndoe: Ex-Wolves star releases 'explosive' new book
Ex-Wolves star Michael McIndoe has lift the lid on his alleged controversial investment scheme in an 'explosive' new book – vowing to 'set the record straight'.
In 'Wildling: My Autobiography',the winger breaks his silence about the alleged huge fraud case that is claimed to have snared dozens of footballers out of millions of pounds.
The 37-year-old Scot also writes about his upbringing on the rough Calders estate in Edinburgh and his battle through drugs and violent gang life during the 1990s.
He said: "I am extremely excited to have released my new book and let people read the true story. The media have had such an avid interest in my life that I think it’s about time I set the record straight.”
He made 27 appearances for Wolves in 2006 and 2007.
In 2014 he was declared bankrupt and in documents at bankruptcy hearings it was revealed he owed 17 men nearly £3.5 million – including a string of Wolves players.
The Express & Star has led the way in revealing details of the alleged scheme and McIndoe's extravagant lifestyle.
Scotland Yard fraud detectives are currently investigating the alleged failed investment scheme and have interviewed him under caution.
Mr McIndoe says the book tells his 'explosive life story'.
He played more than 500 matches for Wolves, Bristol City, Barnsley, Derby County, Coventry City and Yeovil Town.
His promotion material says: "The complex character is infamous for his honest appraisals and McIndoe certainly doesn’t hold back when it comes to revealing his experiences with some very well known managers and teammates."
