Teenage boy suffers head injuries in park attack

A teenage boy was the victim of a 'traumatic' attack after he was assaulted in a park.

Police have launched an investigation following the attack which happened in Kidderminster on Sunday.

The 14-year-old victim was among a group of boys and girls of the same age in Brintons Park.

He is reported to have been assaulted by two boys from the group, aged between 14 and 15.

The victim suffered head injuries which later required treatment.

Officers from West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault which happened between 3.30pm and 4pm.

Pc Karen Shotton, of West Mercia Police, said: "This was a traumatic assault and we are working with the victim and family to provide support and reassurance.

"The park would have been very busy around the stated times, and I'd like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this assault to contact us.

"We are treating this as an isolated incident and I would like to reassure the local community that officers have been conducting enquiries in the area and are following a number of lines of enquiry at this time."
