Police pass former Birmingham Dogs Home chief case to prosecutors
A police investigation into a former West Midlands dogs home boss has been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Former Birmingham Dogs Home chief executive Simon Price was arrested in November after £450,000 in donations was allegedly stolen from the charity.
He was arrested on suspicion of theft and has since been on bail.
Last night, a West Midlands Police spokesman said the matter had been given to the CPS 'for review'.
The CPS review cases ahead of a decision on whether to prosecute.
Mr Price has not been charged with any offence.
The charity last month appointed a new chief executive, Giles Webber.
Chairman John Wheatley described the past 12 months for the charity, which runs Sunnyside Centre in Coven, as a 'challenging' time.
