The cash machine was damaged by "two to three" men in Cooks Cross, according to West Mercia Police.

The machine was damaged at 2.30am on August 31 but attempts to steal cash were unsuccessful and the thieves were left empty handed.

It comes after a digger crashed into the Alveley Tandoori restaurant on Cooks Cross, near Bridgnorth, and the contents of the cash machine were stolen in March this year.

The incident happened in the early hours of March 9 and saw what is believed to have been a group of four men force entry to a building site on nearby Kidderminster Road, stealing a JCB before using it to ram-raid Alveley Tandoori.

The men were described as wearing dark clothing.

The digger was crashed into the restaurant and then was abandoned as the thieves escaped in a silver or light-coloured pick-up truck.

Anyone who can help with West Mercia Police's investigations are urged to quote incident number 0051s of August 31.
