David Vaughan, aged 66, of Lane Green Road, Codsall, Wolverhampton, was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday.

Vaughan was jailed after pleading guilty to one count of indecent assault of a boy aged under 14 between January 1980 and December 1980.

Detective cnstable Christopher Lovatt from Staffordshire Police, who oversaw the investigation, said: "I hope the sentencing brings some comfort to the victim. His bravery in coming forward and disclosing what happened to him is to be commended and I hope it encourages other victims to speak out.

“Staffordshire Police is committed to investigating all crimes of this nature and we wish to stress that help and support is available to victims of sexual offences and they are not alone.”
