Thieves make off with £5,000 haul from H Samuel jewellery store

Thieves smashed their way through the roof of a jewellery shop and made off with a £5,000 haul during a late night raid.

Police today launched an investigation after the burglary at the H Samuel shop in Stafford town centre.

Raiders broke into the Gaolgate Street store through the roof, according to Staffordshire Police.

Once inside, burglars smashed their way into an office and stole more than £5,000 worth of jewellery.

Police say the shop's alarm was activated during the raid.

In store CCTV shows the offenders in the premises at around 11.10pm yesterday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident 881 of 8 August.
