Robert Parke claimed his latest victim when she called at RP Autos in Brierley Hill.

The 52-year-old grabbed hold of her hand and placed it on his groin while making an indecent comment, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.

Mr Paul Spratt, prosecuting, said: “She said to him: ‘What are you doing? My mother is here.’ He replied: ‘Don’t worry, you are not on CCTV.’”

She and her mother remained at the garage for some time after the incident in May last year and the defendant later sent her ‘flirty’ text messages.

The woman alerted police after officers made a public appeal for help in tracing Parke when he went on the run while wanted for sexual offences.

Mr Patrick Kelly, defending, said: “He completely misread the signals from this woman and it was the briefest of contact.”

Parke, of Bromley, Pensnett, had denied the sexual offence but was convicted after a magistrates court trial before being committed for sentence to the crown court.

Parke was sentenced in January to four years and four months jail after admitting charges of sexual assault, sexual activity and perverting the course of justice.
