Mr Brindley was stabbed just before midnight on Friday after a night out, and died in his parents' arms.

Police had earlier released footage of four vehicles which were travelling along Little Aston Road towards Aldridge town centre at the time they believe the attack happened.

Police have been searching for the occupants of four cars in the area at the time, and said today that two had now come forward.

Officers were "very keen" to speak to the occupants of those cars in the hope that they may have seen what happened.

And today, West Midlands Police spokesman Brigg Ford said: "Two of those drivers have come forward and we are taking statements from them."

Yesterday, officers revealed that two men were seen arguing with Mr Brindley, 26, in the moments before he died from a stab wound to the heart.

Det Insp Jim Munro, from force CID, said: “We have already had a really good response following our appeal yesterday and have spoken to a number of witnesses.

“We have received some information about two men who were seen by the entrance to ‘The Croft’ near to the entrance on the Little Aston Road side just before the attack.

“We’ve also been told that James was seen having a disagreement with these two men moments before he was stabbed.

“These men were seen to run off into The Croft in the direction of Rookery Lane/Whetstone Lane.

“I would urge these men or anyone who knows who they are to contact police as soon as possible. James’ family are devastated and we need to bring those responsible to justice."

Meanwhile, a fundraising appeal set up in Mr Brindley's memory has now raised more than £12,000.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact officers on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
