Police were called to St Mark's Road, outside Glebefields Library and Tipton Children's Centre, at around 1pm to reports of a disturbance.

Officers said the library was 'immediately locked as there were children inside'.

West Midlands Police said one man had been pushed over a wall by a man who had then threatened him with a knife.

The force said no one was injured and no arrests had been made, but investigations were ongoing.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to reports that someone had been attacked, but that crews left when it became clear no one had been injured.
