Unemployed Ashley Foster, aged 24, charged with preventing the lawful and decent burial of Megan Bills between April 16 and May 4 this year, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday.

Both the prosecution and defence made a joint application for a further two weeks to speak to Foster about what happened.

Mr Nicholas Corsellis, prosecuting, said they were looking for 'answers to questions that both sets of families may need.'

Police were called to the Highgate Road hostel, which is split into flats, after neighbours reported a smell. Officers entered the flat and found a double wardrobe wrapped in cling film. Inside was the body of 17-year-old Miss Bills.

Her parents later paid tribute to their daughter whose death had left 'a huge hole' in their lives.

Foster, of no fixed abode, who has yet to enter a plea, was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on June 21.
