Simon Johnson death: Boy, 16, charged with murdering father-of-two found stabbed at Netherton home

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murdering a father-of-two found with stab wounds in his Dudley home.

Window fitter Simon Johnson was found dead at his semi-detached house in Netherton last August.

The 41-year-old victim was found with fatal stab wounds at the address in Cradley Road.

The boy was due to appear before Walsall Magistrates' Court today.

Another 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with burglary from the same night Mr Johnson was found dead

He was also appearing before magistrates today.

Mr Johnson had been a fitter at Black Country Glazing in Cradley Heath for 25 years.

Gemma Howell, office manager at the firm, paid tribute to a long-standing colleague. She said: “Everyone here is devastated that we have lost one of our own who was not just an employee but a friend as well.”

Mr Johnson's wife also paid tribute to her husband in the days following his death.

She said: “Simon was loved by all of his family and was a very proud father of two girls.
