Disabled children have laptops stolen at Wolverhampton train station
This suspect was being hunted by police today after laptops used by disabled children to communicate were stolen at Wolverhampton train station.
The man, who has a distinctive tattoo on the back of his head, is wanted after the laptops, which were being held in a carrier bag, were briefly left on the main concourse.
The suspect is alleged to have picked up the bags and walked right past the victims. The family which owns the laptops is said to be distraught.
The computers are not easily replaced as they had been custom made to help the children, who cannot communicate without them.
British Transport Police said: "We’d like to speak to the man in this image, who has a distinctive tattoo on the back of his head, as we believe he has information which could help the investigation."
Pc Jason Walters added: “Thieves may think that they’re not harming anyone when they take things like phones or laptops – but in reality, it can cause untold upset and disruption to a person’s life.
“To any offenders out there, just because someone might have left something behind, it does not give you the right to take it. And if you think you can get away with it, think again. We will find you.”
It happened at around 1pm on May 14, and CCTV was released today.
