The three, aged 17, 16 and 13 - from Stechford, Erdington and Northfield - are alleged to have taken a mobile phone, headphones and a jacket from two 19-year-old men in Victoria Park on Monday night.

They are also accused of robbing a pair of trainers from a youth in Church Road on March 9 and trying to rob a boy in Kingshurst Road on March 15.

The 16-year-old is also charged with possession of a knife that was allegedly brandished during Monday’s park attack.

All three were due to appear before Birmingham Youth Court today.

Sgt Toni Holl, from Force CID, said: "We understand there have been in excess of 10 robberies in Northfield over the last month and we have stepped up patrols in the area.

"These charges are a significant step forward in our investigations which are still on-going."
