Murder suspect tells court of beating by co-accused
A defendant in a murder trial said it was his two co-accused who dragged the victim out a house by his legs and beat him until he couldn't talk.

John Scott was in the witness stand yesterday giving evidence at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Scott is accused of murdering 52-year-old Barry Shillam in Brook Street, Smethwick, on July 17, along with Andrea Jones and Gurminder Singh Sidhu after a drinking session. Mr Shillam was discovered with 'profound injuries' and died the next day in Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Scott told jurors how he returned to the home of Jones along with Sidhu, who is also known as 'Jay', and they found Mr Shillam asleep on Jones' settee. Scott described how he tried to usher the victim out of the house to safety as Jones and Sidhu tried to attack him. He said: "They pulled him (Mr Shillam) towards the outside of the house and they were pulling him up the pathway.
"I was saying to them 'what are you doing? He hasn't done anything'."
The jury heard that Mr Shillam was left on a grassy area after he had been attacked.
Scott said that Jones and Sidhu had been talking in the kitchen as Mr Shillam was outside on the grass.
Jones, 39 and from Brook Street, Sidhu, 40 from St Matthews Road, Smethwick, and Scott, 46 also from Brook Street, all deny murder. The trial continues.
