The men, aged 29 and 30, and from the Smethwick area, were arrested after an image was circulated in the media following an assault in Birmingham's Broad Street. Both have been released on bail.

The arrests are in connection with an attack at around 3am on November 3, when a 30-year-old woman felt a sharp pain in her thigh, which was later confirmed as a puncture wound.

It comes after it was revealed two women were stabbed with a needle as they danced together in a Walsall nightspot on Sunday morning.

Police do not believe the latest stabbings are related to the Birmingham attack.
