Man charged over Stafford town centre attack

A man has been charged in connection with a serious town centre attack, police said today.

Ross Leggat was arrested after a 21-year-old man from Rugeley was seriously assaulted in Bridge Street, Stafford on July 31.

Police have now charged Leggat with wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

Leggat, aged 21, from Hadley in Telford, has been released on bail and will appear at Cannock Magistrates Court on November 13.

The victim suffered serious facial injuries and had to be taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke.
