Raymond Brown, aged 67, of Hagley Road, Rugeley, was due to appear before magistrates in Cannock today.

The 51-year-old victim was airlifted to hospital after the disturbance outside a bungalow in Hagley Road on Sunday evening.

He was last night released from the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

The bungalow was yesterday cordoned off by police and there was a police car in the driveway.

Police Community Support Officers were also patrolling the area and reassuring residents.

Faye Casey, spokeswoman for Staffordshire Police, said: "One man sustained a facial injury and was flown to hospital."
