How to save money on fuel and get cash off the phone bill, Money Saving Amy shares handy hints as the cost-of-living crisis rumbles on

Cashback apps
Right now, times are hard for a lot of people and we all want to lower our bills, Airtime Rewards is a brilliant app that will lower your phone bill. Airtime rewards is compatible with all major networks including O2, EE, Three, Vodafone and Giffgaff.
This app saves me at least £10 a month consistently on my phone bill. This app works in a couple of ways, firstly, you link the app to your bank via open banking and it tracks your spending and when you spend at certain retailers such as Boots, Greggs, Clark’s and many more you will gain cashback which then goes towards your phone bill. Once you reach £10 you can redeem it against the bill.
The second way this app works is that you can buy gift cards on it, and you get cashback on these gift cards. To find the gift card section you select the bottom right hand button that says “more” and then “want to earn more rewards?” and then “gift cards”. They have a range of gift cards from Asda, Morrisons and B&Q to Hobbycraft, B&M and Pizza Express. All gift cards will give you four per cent back.
There are other ways to earn cashback on the app such as earning three per cent back if you use booking.com through the Airtime Rewards app and most recently they’ve added a survey section where again you can earn cashback for doing online surveys.
There’s also a bonus monthly challenge, you must ensure you opt in to this. The rewards will vary month to month but could be along the lines of “fill 5 stamps for a £1 bonus then fill 3 more stamps for £1.50 more”. You will gain a stamp everytime you shop at once of the listed retailers, or buy a gift card.
If you’re joining Airtime Rewards for the first time you can use code “J8ART9H6” for a bonus. You’ll get a 50p bonus for signing up and then an additional £1 bonus if you spend at a listed retailer or buy a gift card within 7 days of signing up.
