The entrants this year range from solicitors and barristers to estate agents and independent financial advisers.

The guest judges on this year's law society panel were Her Honour Judge Helen Hughes, the chief executive of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, Corin Crane, the Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Phil Page, Vicky Price from the Grand Theatre and Peter Walton from the University of Wolverhampton.

They met last month to assess the entries in four award categories, namely Junior Professional of the Year (sponsored by Move Reports), Professional of the Year (sponsored by University of Wolverhampton), Professional Services Firm of the Year (sponsored by NO5 Chambers) and Community Champion of the Year (sponsored by Wolverhampton Law Society)

The judges said they were 'very impressed' across all categories at the talent these professionals had displayed and their commitment to the Wolverhampton and Black Country area. Those on the shortlist exhibited strong CSR values, growth and development, and organisations and individuals dedicated to the needs of their clients, other professionals and the geographical region in which they work.
