Judges will be looking for businesses who have a clear strategy and vision, aligned with financial and/or team growth, who have overcome challenges and turned difficult situations around and provided excellence in their field.

Jenks & Cattell Engineering
Jenks & Cattell Engineering in Wednesfield has demonstrated consistent growth and strong commercial performance over its 139 years of operation, with turnover rising from £9m to nearly £14m in recent financial years.
In 2022-2023, profits increased by 80 per cent, providing the financial stability needed to invest in personnel, plant, and future growth. Financial security is supported by their Newship Group owners, the family-owned company with an annual turnover of £200m and annual profits exceeding £35m.
The company’s strategic mission—“sustainable growth through innovation, collaboration, and developing engineering solutions in partnership with our stakeholders”—guides its operations and decision-making. Prestwood Care Home
Since 1985, Prestwood has provided services to older people in the local community.
The company is immensely proud of the professionalism of our services and the very high standards of care it provides, whether residential or in clients’ homes.

T.C. Morris
T.C. Morris is a third-generation family run business specialising in the production of quality pork pies for the food service and catering sectors.
Established in 1939, the company has evolved from humble beginnings as a butcher's shop to a thriving manufacturer serving the food service sector. T.C. Morris’s vision to "exceed customer expectations, producing quality products that provide value for money” has guided the business, built on its core values: respect, integrity, quality, teamwork, and ambition.
Under the leadership of family member, Charlotte Tennant who joined the business in 2010, they have grown from four to 75 customers including: Midland Chilled Foods, Gills, Co-op, and Alan Warwick Butchers. The company has grown turnover from £2.6m in 2020 to £5.1m in 2024 and following relocation to new larger premises in Dudley in 2024, they now have the capacity to reach £10m by 2027.
They have embedded a positive family culture throughout the organisation. Multiple generations of local families have found employment, creating a culture of loyalty and pride amongst its long service staff. The company's staff has grown to 55 employees, with plans to add 10 more in addition to apprenticeship opportunities in the next three years across factory operations and administration.
