Iverley View Care Home, run by Barchester Healthcare, opened its doors on Thursday April 24 with a VIP day which included a visit from the King's representative - the Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands, speeches and plenty of cake.

Barchester’s chief executive officer, Dr Pete Calveley, and general manager Amanda Morgan Bennett hosted the event and invited guests to view the new 60-bed care home on the corner of Greyhound Lane and Norton, which is now open and welcoming its first residents.

The home, which offers care for the elderly including specialist dementia care and respite stays, has been a long time coming - with plans first submitted in 2021 to demolish the former Greyhound pub and replace it with a state-of-the-art care facility.
Despite local objections over the redevelopment of the pub site, the proposal was finally approved in 2022, with work starting in June 2023 and the plush residential home, set over three floors, opened for visitors to look around in March before being officially opened yesterday (Thursday).

General manager Amanda Morgan Bennett said: “We are delighted our home is now open, our residents are at the heart of everything we do at Iverley View, and we look forward to welcoming them and their families, and becoming an active part of the local community.
“We take pride in really getting to know each of our residents to provide tailored care and support, ensuring dignity and choice in every aspect of daily life.”
Barchester’s chief executive officer, Dr Pete Calveley, added: “Iverley View is going to be a wonderful home, Amanda and her team here will offer personalised care for the people of Stourbridge and the surrounding area in this lovely setting.
"We’re thrilled to add Iverley View to our Barchester family of quality care homes and hospitals.”
