A former health centre and nursing home in Wolverhampton is to go for sale at auction with a £750,000 guide price.

Oxley Health Centre and the Probert Court Nursing Home on Probert Road is among the lots set to feature in the next livestreamed sale hosted by Bond Wolfe Auctions on Thursday May 15, starting at 8.30am.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said the property located north of the city centre could be redeveloped - subject to planning permission.

He said: “This is a substantial building that was most recently used as a 27-bedroomed nursing home and health centre, along with 15 doctors’ rooms."

The property stands back from the road behind a large parking area and is located within a mixed use of commercial and residential units.

The former Oxley Health Centre has a ground floor entrance with a doctors’ reception and patient waiting room, 15 doctor or medical rooms, a switchboard and communications room, kitchen, several toilets, and another meeting room with a kitchen.

There is a landing on the first floor leading to two staff rooms, one with a kitchen, three doctors’ offices, a storeroom and bathroom with toilet.

The former Probert Court Nursing Home has a communal entrance, a communal hall, 27 bedrooms, an office, storeroom, two communal bathrooms, two communal toilets, a kitchen, communal dining room, communal reception room/conservatory.

The property is in need of refurbishment, and the section housing the former nursing home has been severely vandalised, including extensive damage to part of the roof.

The 1.37-acre plot includes outside grounds and off-road parking facilities.

Mr Bassi added: “There will be vacant possession upon completion of the sale of this property, which we judge may be suitable for redevelopment subject to planning consents.”

Bond Wolfe is selling the former health centre and nursing home in Wolverhampton on behalf of a housing association.

The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
