Richardson Foundation chips in for free respite breaks for service personnel
A kind-hearted Black Country business has stepped in to help provide free respite breaks for military personnel, veterans, emergency service workers and their families.
Sponsored Breaks provide gifted campervan getaways for families from military and emergency services backgrounds.
Now, the Richardson Brothers Foundation says it's "very pleased" to be backing them with a donation that will go towards providing three day getaways in VW T6 campervan, where recipients will have the freedom to explore, reconnect with nature and improve their mental well-being.
“Simon and Harriet, co-founders of Sponsored Breaks, do amazing work gifting campervan getaways for families from military and emergency services backgrounds. These respite breaks for those who serve on the frontline make a real difference to people’s lives and the Foundation is delighted to support them," said Rachel Brown, Trustee of the Richardson Brothers Foundation.
The Richardson family has an enduring relationship with the military. They have supported the Armed Forces for over 40 years and Carl Richardson was appointed Honorary Colonel of 4th Battalion, The Mercian Regiment in 2024.
Simon Love, co-founder of Sponsored Breaks, added: “Since 2021, we have gifted over 100 breaks in a VW campervan that has benefitted more than 300 people. These are our community heroes, our serving and former military personnel and our emergency and key workers. We couldn’t provide these breaks without the support of others and we are hugely grateful to the Richardson Brothers Foundation for their generous donation.”
