Membership grows as Newport Chamber marks 60 years

A Shropshire business group, which has recently celebrated an impressive milestone, has started 2025 'on a high' as it continues to thrive and grow.

Since its inception in 1964,  Newport Chamber, 60 last year, has been dedicated to supporting local businesses, offering them a platform to have a voice, learn and prosper. 

The 2023/24 period was most successful year to date for the volunteer-led, not-for-profit business group, as it increased its membership by over two thirds. 

Key highlights of the Newport Chamber’s legacy include networking and collaboration.

The Chamber has been instrumental in facilitating connections among businesses through its regular events and gatherings.

The organisation has also been a valuable resource for businesses seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Chair of Newport Chamber Karen Woodcock said: “I am incredibly proud of the volunteer team who work so hard to support businesses through the Chamber. 

"We have started 2025 on a high and look forward to continuing our mission, furthering our support for businesses in the town, contributing to the growth and prosperity of Newport and continuing to grow the Chamber membership.”
