Businesses across the West Midlands are invited to sign up to attend the Chamber’s Data Reveal event on Thursday, January 9 at Wolverhampton Science Park.

The event will reveal the results of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce’s fourth Quarterly Economic Survey of 2024, which was open to businesses across the region from November 11 to December 5.

Black Country Chamber of Commerce CEO Sarah Moorhouse said: “Attendees will be the first to receive an insight into how businesses across the Black Country have been feeling since the government’s Budget in October.

“Gathering data on sales trends, recruitment, cashflow and investment, the QES is the most authoritative national business confidence survey, so our Data Reveal event is one not to be missed.

“The event is a great opportunity to gain insight into the Black Country’s economic data and network with other organisations from across the region.”

Speakers will give their analysis of what the data means for businesses and talk about this quarter's theme of AI and cybersecurity.

Guest speakers and panellists, including Professor Zeeshan Pervez from the University of Wolverhampton, will share their insights on 'how to be the intelligent customer' plus current advancements in AI and cybersecurity and how they are being adopted by businesses.

The Chamber’s last economic survey for Quarter 3 revealed that 60 per cent of Black Country businesses were predicting an improvement in turnover over the next 12 months, well above the latest national survey result but down from 71 per cent in Quarter 2.

It found that 50 per cent of businesses believed profitability would improve over the next 12 months, compared with 62 per cent three months earlier.
