New sign installed at £160m Cannock designer outlet as aerial photos show progress
A new sign has been installed at a £160 million designer outlet set, as the finishing touches are being made ahead of its opening this spring.
The sign has been put up at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands, in Cannock off the A460.
It stands numerous metres tall and features the names of shops and brands set to open at the region's next big shopping attraction, including: Nike, Hugo Bossm Coach, Ted Baker London, Tommy Hilfiger and Five Guys.
Other of the finishing touches being made include lights at the shopping centre, which looked dazzling when it was lit up at night.
The opening of the designer outlet was postponed by several months due to Covid-19, having been pushed back from September 2020.
Other brands that are set to feature there are: Dune, Sole Trader, Hobbs, Lindt, The Cosmetics Company, Moss Bros, Police, Luke, Bedeck, Pro Cook, Portmeirion, Reiss, Kurt Geiger, Guess, Calvin Klein, Adidas, Le Creuset, Starbucks, Wagamama, Radley, Yankee Candle, Skechers and Guess.
About 1,000 retail jobs are expected to be created when the site opens.
Mike Thomas, centre manager for McArthurGlen’s West Midlands Designer Outlet, said in September: "We're really looking forward to opening to customers early next year."
He added: "With regards to Covid-19, all McArthurGlen centres are operating with the highest standards of health and safety in place, and future visitors to West Midlands Designer Outlet can expect exactly the same standards here."
