The Prince’s Trust personal development course, which is based in Smethwick, targets unemployed 16- to 25-year-olds and will not affect any benefit payments.

It aims to encourage people to improve their confidence, communication and leadership skills, as well as mathematics and English.

Learners will take part in days out at the residential centre, gain work experience and take part in community projects.

The course is a full-time 12-week programme based at Piddock Road, Smethwick and is expected to start on February 17, depending on Government restrictions.

Attendees to the course will graduate from it with a nationally recognised qualification – The Prince’s Trust Award, Certificate and Diploma in Personal Development and Employability Skills (PDE), which recognises a breadth of personal skills, qualities and attitudes required by employers across a range of sectors.

For more information about joining the programme or to refer a young person email Jack at Dytorj@wolvcoll.ac.uk or call 07787 245 832.
