JLR donates food to vulnerable families
Jaguar Land Rover employees are helping feed thousands of families this Christmas through a major donation drive to support local food banks.
The effort is part of Jaguar Land Rover’s ‘12 Days of Christmas’ campaign, which encourages employees to support their community during the festive season.
More than 16,000 food items have been donated.
Staff at Jaguar Land Rover’s Engine Manufacturing Centre filled up an on-site donation point in support of two Wolverhampton food banks, the Elias Mattu Foundation and Excel Church Food Bank which both received a generous delivery of 248 food items in total.
John Raj, who runs Excel Church’s food bank, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Jaguar Land Rover for collecting items for our food bank over Christmas.
“We started up during the pandemic to respond to the needs of the local community and so far we have delivered over 13,000 food parcels to people who live in this area.
"Many of these are families who have been impacted by Covid-19. Jaguar Land Rover’s donations will go towards our much-needed Christmas appeal to support families and individuals in Wolverhampton.”
Holly Jago, corporate responsibility manager at Jaguar Land Rover said: “The 12 Days of Christmas campaign is the perfect way to round off an incredibly difficult year for so many, with our employees continuing their support to our communities.”
