Black Country Skills Factory to launch career event
The Black Country Skills Factory is launching a programme of events to help give people an insight into future career opportunities.
Monday sees the launch of the first of four 'World of Work Weeks', designed at capturing the imagination of young people and adults by giving them an insight into different sectors.
The first week will focus on engineering and manufacturing, kicking of with an 'Introduction to Engineering' from 9am to 10am.
Other topics to feature next week will include 'An Engineer's Journey', 'Engineering in NHS', 'Engineering of the Future', 'Post-16 Engineering' and 'Women in Engineering'.
Angela Moore, head of the Skills Factory, said: "It is designed at capturing the imagination of Black Country young people and adults by giving them an insight into future career opportunities in the region's transformational sectors.
"Each week there will be a programme of events for the public to join and some of which can be streamed live directly into classrooms in primary, secondary and colleges."

"The World of Work offer is open to all," Angela said.
"The first World of Work covers engineering and manufacturing and includes contributions from local industry, college, universities, independent training providers, public services, and the armed forces.
"Further weeks planned to take place between March and June 2021 include the construction industry, hospitality and catering, and health and social care."
The Black Country Skills Factory and the Black Country Careers Hub are supporting the Ladder for the Black Country campaign.
Working closely with the Careers Hub team, local schools will benefit from a range of additional employer led apprenticeship activities to ensure that teachers, parents and young people are well informed about and have exposure to the world of apprenticeships.
