More than 320 jobs are facing the axe after Virgin Media announced plans to cut a customer service department in the Black Country.

The media giant wants to close the help centre at the company¹s base at The Waterfront in Brierley Hill.

But bosses have revealed 150 new positions could be created under plans to centralise the firm's technical support department at the site.

Workers were called into a meeting at the site at 2pm yesterday where they were told about the latest job cut proposals.

A 90-day consulation involving all of the customer services staff affected by the announcement is now underway.
