When police tried a new crowd control method at Molineux - and it was deemed a success
Uh-oh... trouble on the North Bank.
It's Wolves v Burnley on September 20, 1969, and police were using a new method of crowd control for the first time at Molineux – high powered binoculars.
They were a response to concern about ever-increasing hooliganism on the terraces.
"According to Wolverhampton police they were a great success," the Star reported afterwards.
For the first time for many months no arrests were made at a match.
