West Midlands Police is appealing for information after a member of staff at a shop on Hednesford Road, Cannock, was punched, had items thrown at them and were racially abused.

The incident took place at around 12.30pm on Thursday, May 8, and saw a man enter a shop on the road and request a gas and electric top-up.

When the member of staff explained they could not fulfil the man's request, the man punched, threw items at and racially abused them.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We are releasing CCTV footage of a man we would like to speak to after a man was assaulted at a shop in Cannock.
